Grandpa's old-fashioned cucumber salad is a summertime favorite at my house. In the South, it is also known as cucumber slaw. This fresh summer salad is super easy to make and cheap. When gardens start producing many of you will be able to make this for almost FREE!
Gardeners always have a surplus of cucumbers, tomatoes, and other veggies. I was told this recipe was created to eliminate waste. People back in the day didn't throw anything away. They found a use for everything.

Easy Sweet Vinegar Salad Dressing Recipe
Ingredients
1/4 C Oil
1/4 C White Vinegar
1/4 C Sugar (or sugar substitute)
Dash of Garlic Salt to TastePlace in an airtight container with a lid. Store in your refrigerator and shake well before pouring.
(Apple Cider Vinegar can be used as a substitute.) I don't personally care for the bittersweet flavor.
